The Kozy Heat Callaway 50 is the mid-size model in the Callaway linear series, built for rooms where a full 72″ unit would overwhelm the wall. At 59-1/2″ wide overall with a 49-7/8″ x 13-3/8″ viewing area, it carries the proportions of a large flat-panel television, which is exactly the visual language most modern and transitional interiors are already working in.
Output runs 35,500 BTU/hr high and 18,000 BTU/hr low on both natural gas and propane, with steady state efficiency of 72.59% NG and 70.45% LP (73.49% and 72.74% on the ENERGUIDE P.4 rating). That low setting matters more than the headline number. It lets you run the fireplace on a mild fall or spring evening for the look of the fire without driving the room out of comfort.
Heat distribution is where the Callaway 50 separates itself. The optional Komfort Zone Kit creates a vented cavity that lets you bring combustible finish materials right to the edge and mount a television directly above the fireplace without exposing it to heat. Interior and exterior heat transfer kits and a power vent system are also available if you want to move warmth to another part of the house or manage it out of the room entirely.
Customization runs deep. Burner media options include reflective midnight or copper crushed glass and lava rock. Media accents include traditional logs, a beach accent kit, and a rock media kit. Refractory panels come in Chicago style brick, ledgestone, enamel, and black glass. Perimeter media adds vermiculite, black sand, and enamel or black glass panels to the list.
Standard features include ceramic glass, an IPI valve system with electronic ignition, an engineer-designed burner system, an inside-fit safety screen front, and certification to ANSI Z21.88 as a vented gas heater. An optional fan kit is available.
